Dancers'
Testimonies

"I am 76 years old and I started dancing because it gave me company after my husband died. I continued dancing because it just feels good. I don't see my doctor as often and I meet some really nice people. I even danced in Disneyland Paris. I live in England and have been line dancing for 4 years."

Bill & Pat Ford from the Midlands in the UK.
We met on the dance floor 8 years ago and got married two years ago. "What does our doctors say about us dancing? Well, not much as we haven't had to see a doctor since we started dancing. Age? We are both 74 years old and dance 2-3 times a week."

"When I first found out I had Polio I thought, that's it, my life is over. I then discovered line dancing and found that I could dance at my own level. More important were my legs began getting stronger. Soon I was dancing 2 and 3 times a week. No, I can't do all the jumps and turns but I love what line dancing has done for me and my health. I am from Baltimore, MD and I'll see you out on the dance floor!"

You are never too young to start line dancing, and these young dancers prove that at Disney Land Paris. "We started competing in line dance competitions when we were 5 and 6 years old. Sometimes we win and we like that. We dance because it's fun!"

"Hi, I'm Jan from Honolulu and I have been teaching over 5 years. Line dancing has made a huge difference in my health and social life. I am 65 years old."

"Hi, I'm Pat from Honolulu. I started dancing for fun and exercise and soon realized I could teach beginners and others."

"I have now been teaching for over 5 years. I am 67 years old and no longer need to go to the Dr. as all my parts are moving just fine. Call me or Phillis Johnson if you ever come to Hawaii and want to dance!"

We've been dancing now for over six years and the 70's never felt so good! We get to travel all the time now and meet lots of people who have now become our friends.

In Hawaii we dance 3-4 times a week and I think we aren't getting older, we're getting better. The young ones can't keep up with us. We are all in our 70's. Picture taken in Hilo, HI in October of 2001.
